  • 65% of students achieving 4+ in both English and Mathematics, a 9 percentage point improvement on last year.

We are once again celebrating a cohort of talented students and their outstanding GCSE results. Building on last year’s success which put the school in the top quartile for student progress, this year’s results again serve to highlight the development our young learners make after joining in Year 7.

The results are a testament to students’ hard work and commitment to achieving excellence, as well as staffs’ dedication to providing a rich and outstanding education. GCSE students follow last week’s jubilant Sixth Form, many of whom enjoyed life changing outcomes, including unconditional offers at the likes of Queen Mary University and University of Greenwich.

Among the many success stories, Zaynah achieved 5 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and an A in Further Maths. She commented: “I am so proud of my results today and really thankful for the constant support and motivation from our teachers. George Green’s School has offered me such a variety of opportunities, including trips to Oxford and Cambridge University, which has inspired me to continue with my studies and pursue a career in Medicine”.

Hear from our leadership

Principal Jill Baker commented: “Our GCSE graduates have done themselves and their families proud. We’ve had a fantastic time today celebrating their achievements. I was delighted to hear so many are choosing to stay with us for the Sixth Form because they recognise that not only is the education and access to sector-leading partnerships second to none, but also teachers elsewhere won’t have the same understanding of how to help them progress.”

Head of Year 11, XX, was full of praise for students: “I am absolutely delighted with our GCSE results today. Against a backdrop of GCSE reforms, our students have managed to surpass last year’s results and produce some incredible individual achievements. The work we have done to provide additional opportunities to complement every student’s academic studies has ensured our students have high aspirations for the future and I look forward to seeing the variety of careers they enjoy once they have finished their school education in our Sixth Form.”
