George Green’s young writers excel at the 2022 First Story Festival at the University of Cambridge  

On 29^th March, our brilliant First Story writers in Years 10 and 12 travelled to the University of Cambridge for the First Story Young Writers Festival.  The event saw Maisha Uddin in Year 10 as one of three student chairs chosen to interview the celebrated young adult fiction author Patrice Lawrence MBE and included writing workshops with published authors and a tour of Newnham College which certainly sparked future aspirations.  The day culminated with a young writers’ showcase which saw two George Green’s students: Ceren Yuksel in Year 10 and Christopher Boyle in Year 12 selected by Patrice Lawrence alongside eight other young writers to read their poignant poetry to an audience of over 400. 

Our tenth anthology ‘End of Prologue’ will be published late June and contains the stunning work this team of 16 talented writers have produced including the pieces read by Ceren and Christopher at the Festival.
